Want to work for us?
Working at the Magpie Project is never boring and it is not often easy either. A mum and mini-centred, trauma-informed environment means compromise, chaos, noise and frequent change. Your professional boundaries, emotional awareness, and humanity will be tested daily, and you will need to bring your best self to work every day.
But the rewards are extraordinary. You will be able to see the difference you are making to people’s lives on a daily basis. You will have the honour of fighting alongside and for incredible women and children for the services to which they are entitled, and the opportunities which they deserve.
You will be offered mentoring, training, continuing professional development, support and supervision, emergency emotional support, alongside unconditional positive regard.
Referrals and administrative assistant
We are looking or a calm, collected, accurate, organised, unflappable data-entry machine, to support us in keeping our records straight, making referrals to outside agencies and charities, entering data on our database to help us keep track of our mums and minis’ journeys out of homelessness, and to keep our frontline workers supported with back office tasks.
If this is you, please read our job description VERY carefully and let us know in a letter how your experience and skills fit as many of our criteria as possible. Then send it along with your CV.
We will be interviewing in September and this interview will include a written and a verbal task to give us all an idea of what you will be expected to do on a daily basis.
We will try to make the process as fair and transparent as possible and actively encourage applications from those who have lived experience of the issues we are working with and from those who have experienced forced migration from Africa, the Middle East or South Asia.
